  • Low-flow showers, bathroom faucets and water closets (toilets) that reduce water usage on average by 20 percent.
  • Highly efficient irrigation system designed to provide only the necessary amount of water based on plant species, shading and recent weather factors.
  • Third-party verified insulation in the walls and ceiling to maximize thermal performance.
  • High energy-efficient air source heat pumps.
  • Engineered duct systems that deliver the exact amount of air required for each room; third party tested to ensure the most efficient performance.
  • Tankless water heater conserves energy by only activating hot water when called.
  • 100 percent Energy Star® appliances including refrigerator, dishwasher, in-unit clothes washer and ceiling fans
  • MERV 8 air filters in HVAC equipment increase trapped particulates to reduce allergens and create a healthier living environment. The homes were also flushed with fresh air for 48 hours before occupancy. A flush out helps remove any built up VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) that are naturally found in new carpet, cabinets and paint.
  • Duct registers were sealed during construction activities to reduce dust and contaminants in the duct system improving indoor air quality at the time of occupation.
  • Fiber cement siding, gypsum board and recycled content cabinets were all manufactured in Kansas.

26 percent of construction waste was recycled and diverted from the landfill. EPA estimates that over 30 percent of all landfill waste comes from building construction activities.
